Eutalia, with the Italian Ministry of Justice, junior partner of the project, the Justice Coóperation Internationale with the French Ministry of Justice, lead partner of the project, together with Algerian ministry of Justice – General Direction of the Penitentiary and Reintegration Administration are the national institutions responsible for the implementation of the Twinning project “Support the strengthening of the penitentiary administration in accordance with international standards, in order to improve detention conditions and reintegration of detainees in Algeria”.
The Twinning project no.DZ/25 in Algeria is implemented in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Instrument for the strategic objectives of the cooperation between Algeria and the European Union. It encourages Algeria’s reforms of the penitentiary administration according to the International standards and strengthens rule of law, specifically concerning the detention conditions and reintegration of detainees.
Eutalia is supporting the Italian Ministry of Justice in drafting the Project proposal, the work plan and budget and, in its role of Mandated body, is responsible for administrative and logistics support, including during training and visibility events, as well as contractual, administrative and financial management during contract implementation.
The Project budget is 2 mln EUR and its duration is 30 months.
